Your Hosts

SOCIAL AREAHand-built in 1971 by the hardworking men and women of the Evans Center Volunteer Fire Company, this “assembly hall” has been host to countless numbers of parties, dances, benefits, community fundraisers, meetings and all types of celebrations over its 50 year history.

As this active volunteer fire department started to celebrate its 80th year of service to our community in 2013, the membership and ladies auxiliary made an enormous investment not only in the facility, but in creating a truly welcoming place for friends, family and you to gather for many years to come.

For the first time ever, our 35,000 sq. ft. parking lot was paved and now has space for more than 100 vehicles including reserved handicap parking.

And just like in the 70’s — it was the members and our active auxiliary who took on the aggressive project of renovating the more than 6,000 sq. ft. space, tearing down the two-toned carpeting that covered the walls, laying down commercial grade carpeting on the floor (where it belongs – lol), building a new dance floor, covering the underlying block walls with neutrally painted drywall and contrasting wood trim; and rebuilding the columns, nicely accented with new adjustable sconce lighting.

We’ve transformed this facility literally from floor to ceiling — and everything in between.

We invite you to join us at one of the many community events we host throughout the year or stop in any time to take a tour. Come celebrate with us in recognizing the hard work of our dedicated volunteers.

We think you’ll agree that we’ve created a new space — just like our new firehouse we built in 2001 — that is the centerpiece of the community.
